The cluster management has made it their task to extend the internationally leading position of Baden-Württemberg in the field of microsystem technology into that of a global leader. For the Leading Cluster Competition, the consortium has worked out a “Strategy for the Future 2020+” which includes three guiding objectives for the work of the cluster:
The cluster should be established as a leading research, development and production location for intelligent products with integrated microsystem technology.
Competence and capacities in the cluster should be expanded in accordance with the objectives and be optimally pooled in creative cooperation and innovation processes.
The appeal of the region to skilled personnel, creative minds, companies and investors should be further increased.
The leading cluster pools its competences into specialized groups, in order to create cooperative innovations in the field of microsystem technology. Representatives of companies, research facilities and institutions spend time exchanging technological and practical topics. Their goal is to recognize trends in microsystem technology early on, to derive measures to work with them, and find fitting cooperation partners and in this way, assure international competitiveness. more
PRONTO is the platform that runs across all fields of application, a platform for the production of pilot and low-volume production of technologically complex microsystems. Smart Systems Integration (SSI) creates new standards and interfaces in all four fields of application, in order to accelerate the innovation process. more
In addition, the leading cluster also works with structural topics. Here the goal is to improve the general framework for the microsystem technology sector in southwestern Germany: the MicroTEC Academy offers a wide spectrum of opportunities for further education, while MicroTEC Worldwide supports the members of the leading cluster in attaining international success. more
