MicroTEC Südwest (Southwest) is located in a high-performance area of science and industry of Europe. Four regions shaped by industry and sciences in the southwestern part of Germany mark the linchpins of the cluster:

there is a unique concentration of technology and market expertise over the entire value and innovation chain.
MicroTEC Südwest is a winner in the second round of the excellence cluster competition launched by the German Federal Ministry for Education and research. The cluster is now making its way to an international top-position in the field of microsystems technology.
Mikrosystemtechnik Baden-Württemberg e.V. (MST BW) is commissioned by the Department of Trade and Industry of Baden-Württemberg for the management of the cluster MicroTEC Südwest.
